Located on a small hill adjacent to the restaurant, the newly renovated and spacious chalets and dormitories at Hornbill Lodge offer visitors sweeping views of the Kinabatangan river. Rooms are nestled amongst the trees and connected to a large dining area and river-facing deck via covered wooden walkways.
Every river chalet and dormitory comes with it's own river-facing balcony, offering you a peaceful space to enjoy the river view between cruises. All river chalets and dormitories have modern, ensuite Western-style bathroom facilities with hot water showers. |

Accessibility
Due to our hillside location, there is no step-free access to the rooms at Hornbill Lodge. The furthest rooms require climbing around 85 steps, the closest 10 to 20 steps. If you require a closer room, please inform our team at the time of booking and we will do our best to place you in one of the rooms closest to our restaurant and reception area.
River chalets

Every River Chalet has a comfortable king size bed as well as a super single bed making them suitable for friends, families, couples and solo travellers. Extra beds are available on request with a maximum of 1 extra bed available per room.

Family river chalets
|
Ideal for a family of 4 or even 5 with an extra bed, our Family river chalets have 1 king-size bed and 1 set of bunk beds as well as all the same features as our regular River chalets. We only have 2 Family river chalets at Hornbill Lodge and they share a conjoining balcony which can be locked separately from either side.

Quad-share chalets / dormitories

Each 4 bed chalet is furnished with 2 sets of bunk beds with super-single mattresses inside, rooms may be booked per bed by individual travellers looking for shared accommodation or as a private 4-bed unit for groups & families. Our 4-bed chalets all come with private balconies and high quality ensuite bathrooms. Each bed is allocated it's own luggage storage and safety deposit box inside the room.

Restaurant & bar

Enjoy sweeping views of the Kinabatangan River from our large restaurant deck overlooking the river and have a go at spotting wildlife whilst sipping your morning coffee! Return from your evening river cruise and grab a cold drink at our licensed bar whilst watching the final rays of the sun set over the Kinabatangan River. All meals including early morning tea & coffee, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are included in your stay and are served in our on-site restaurant.
Our cuisine focuses on locally sourced high quality ingredients with both vegetarian and meat options available. We are happy to cater for vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and other dietary requirements, please feel free to discuss your needs with us at the time of booking. Soft drinks, beer, wine and a selection of spirits are available at the bar and may be charged to your room and paid upon check-out via credit card. |

A fully licensed bar, private jetty, free onsite parking, Starlink wifi in the communal areas, cosy information corner, numerous jungle trails and free rubber boots to explore them!
Staying connectedWhilst many of you come to Borneo looking to disconnect, relax and reconnect with nature, we understand that internet access and staying connected with your family is important. There is no phone signal at Hornbill lodge but Starlink wifi is available in our bar & restaurant area for your convenience.
